We are pleased to offer laser surgery at our facility. Our state-of-the-art surgical laser can provide significant benefits in a variety of surgical situations, when compared to a traditional scalpel blade. Some of these circumstances may include feline declaws, some skin incisions, mass removals or ablations, some oral surgeries, and more. The laser cauterizes and seals nerve endings and blood vessels, resulting in less bleeding, swelling, and discomfort for your pet.
A variety of veterinary surgical services are offered at Hazel Dell Animal Hospital, ranging from routine spays, neuters, declaws, and dental procedures, to more complex abdominal, gastrointestinal, urinary tract, and other soft tissue surgeries. In addition, select orthopedic procedures are offered as well. While under our care, your pet will receive excellent treatment, and we’ll also make necessary provisions to ensure that anesthesia is as safe as possible. These include pre-anesthetic blood testing, IV fluid therapy to maintain hydration and blood pressure, and sophisticated monitoring and nurse supervision. All of these are standard operating procedures at our practice.
At Hazel Dell Animal Hospital we provide dental services for dogs and cats. After all, our furry friends need regular dental care too! When your pet is scheduled for a dental cleaning, you will drop your pet off in the morning and pick them up later that afternoon. As a thorough and complete dental cleaning requires anesthesia, all the same precautions are taken as with our surgical procedures. Dental cleaning involves the careful and methodical removal of all tartar, using a special ultrasonic hand scaler. Your pet’s teeth, gums, and periodontal tissues are closely examined for any defects or abnormalities, and then the teeth are polished with prophy paste and treated with the application of a fluoride treatment. Your pet will leave us with a much healthier mouth and fresh breath. You’ll welcome a kiss from your pet after their dental cleaning!
Radiography is an important tool in diagnosing both orthopedic and soft tissue conditions, such as broken bones, arthritis, lung or chest problems, abdominal or gastrointestinal problems, and bladder stones. Radiography is generally performed while your pet is awake, though in some situations, sedation is helpful in reducing pet anxiety and allowing for accurate positioning during the procedure.
We offer ultrasound services to help diagnose ailments and disease processes in our patients. Ultrasound offers a different “image” of internal structures and organs than traditional radiography (x-rays). It can be particularly useful in evaluating organs and regions such as the spleen, liver, kidneys, urinary bladder, gall bladder, abdomen, and heart, as well as allowing us to confirm pregnancies.
We offer complete wellness care for young, adult, and older animals alike. Wellness visits include a thorough “head-to-tail” exam, screening tests based on your pet’s individual needs and lifestyle, and customized vaccination protocols based on your pet’s individual risks.
Getting off to a good start in life is very important for puppies and kittens. At Hazel Dell Animal Hospital, we make providing thorough and appropriate wellness care to your new little friends easier with discounted packages that include multiple sequential physical exams, stool exams, deworming, and comprehensive vaccinations. We are here to answer all of your questions about your newest family member.
